Camco was founded in 1976 by Robert F. Campbell, Sr. an engineer who was one of the first in the industry to perform site-cast concrete tilt-up construction. In 1978 he sold the company to his sons, Robert F. Campbell, Jr. (Bob) and Dewain Campbell. In 1993 Bob and Dewain split to form two separate companies, Dewain would own Camco Pacific located in Southern California and Bob would own Camco Construction located in Salt Lake City, UT. Bob remains the President of Camco Construction, Inc. today.
Camco’s Beginnings
In the beginning Camco had three full-time employees and was performing small remodels and tenant improvement projects. The company has now grown to be one of the larger general contractors in the state of Utah with annual volume ranging from $75 million to $150 million
and an employee base of 40 to over 100 people. Camco is well known in the state for having an expertise in concrete tilt-up construction with crews who self perform all tilt-up forming and tilt-up erection processes, however Camco has a diversified portfolio of projects in many industries and sectors including office, retail, hospitality, medical, etc. Please visit our Project Portfolio page to see our highlighted projects.
Camco Construction, Inc. is licensed in 21 states and has performed work in all of the Western States and as far East as Michigan.
