Description:

Waterford School Fine Arts Center was an addition to the existing school. Focused on promoting interest in and education on the fine arts, the project included classrooms, an auditorium, dance studios, and a black box theater. The auditorium is outfitted with fully automated sound and lighting systems, raised stage area, backstage support areas, acoustical paneling, padded audience seating and an intricate ceiling design to promote sound acoustic resonance. The black box theater adjacent to the auditorium includes a fully automated sound and visual display system and required special attention to detail so that it could be completely soundproof from adjacent rooms.

Description:

Indian Hills is an Elementary School for grades K – 6. The project is typical of a K – 6 school with 30 classrooms, library, gymnasium, four playgrounds and included the demolition of the existing school. The location of the school, at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains provided a challenging site with infinite grade changes, retaining walls, stairs, ramps and even extensive excavation of buried rock which required special heavy-duty excavation equipment. Although the rock was an unforeseen condition the school district could not grant additional time to the contract in order to get the school open for the following school year, thus Camco accelerated the construction schedule after excavation was complete and still completed the project in time for the new school year.
