Description:

Physicians Surgery Center consisted of a 6,498 square foot remodel of and a 5,716 square foot addition to an existing office building. The remodel portion of the project was designed as an “I” occupancy group which is equivalent to that of a hospital. The facility includes full generated emergency back-up power so that any surgical procedure taking place during a power loss can continue uninterrupted. The facility also includes two full service surgical operating rooms, anesthesia room, post anesthesia care unit (PACU) area, step down recovery area, full locker and changing areas, 13 exam rooms, testing lab and full retail optical shop. Camco assisted the owner in a complete re-design of the mechanical system which saved 35% of the cost of the originally designed system.

Description:

Alta View Hospital Emergency Department Addition & Remodel required a heightened attention to detail as the existing emergency room and adjacent life flight helicopter pad had to remain fully operational throughout construction. A 3-phased approach was used to first construct an addition to the existing emergency room. This required the existing building be shored with helical piers to allow a new basement level to be excavated. Once this building was fully occupied, ½ of the existing emergency room was renovated as phase 2 and the remaining ½ as phase 3. Strict noise abatement, dust control and infectious disease control measures were enforced throughout construction.
